Zhejiang Daily reports that Yiwu Market Group, in collaboration with Japanese strategic partner Aokfan Group, is jointly building the Osaka Yiwu Market.
Zhejiang Online, 6 27: (Reporter He Xianjun, Du Yufeng; Shared Alliance·Yiwu, Wu Fengyu) On 6 26, the Yiwu Market located in the Shinsaibashi business district of Osaka, Japan, officially opened its doors to customers. This new overseas branch of the Yiwu Small Commodities City marks a significant step in the "World's Supermarket's" global expansion strategy.
On its opening day, the market was bustling with activity. Many local buyers from Osaka visited the venue, completing product sampling, selection, and ordering right at their doorstep.
Positioned as an invitation-only wholesale market, the Osaka Yiwu Market was developed through a collaboration between the Yiwu Mall Group and its strategic Japanese partner, Okafan Group. It precisely targets local market demands, offering a diverse range of high-quality products across categories such as daily necessities, apparel, beauty, health, and home decor.
The Osaka Yiwu Market features over 90 operating entities and spans 5000 square meters. Driven by three core pillars—"Digital Trade," "Brand Empowerment," and "Direct Supply Chain Access"—it breaks traditional geographical barriers and information silos, enabling high-quality Yiwu commodities to enter the Japanese market more efficiently and injecting new vitality into China-Japan trade.
The market's popularity stems from its distinct operational advantages. It boasts a professional local operations team deeply familiar with Japanese market regulations and consumer habits. The Japanese Okafan Group leverages unique commercial resources, including Japan's largest e-commerce price comparison platform and NETSEA, a leading domestic B2B procurement platform, both of which host a vast membership base of small and medium-sized buyers. These users represent the target customer base for the Osaka Yiwu Market's sourcing services.
Bao Hua, General Manager of the Yiwu Mall Group, stated that the opening of the Osaka Yiwu Market is another major milestone in the partnership between the Mall Group and Okafan. Building on this launch, the Mall Group will fully leverage Yiwu's supply chain strengths and integrate Okafan's extensive online buyer resources to achieve precise matching, ensuring premium Yiwu goods reach the Japanese market effectively.
Since launching its brand internationalization plan in 2023, the Yiwu Small Commodities City has successfully implemented seven types of global projects under five models: overseas branches, overseas warehouses, overseas stations, overseas showrooms, and overseas exhibitions. To date, 60 international projects have been established, including 2 overseas branches, 22 overseas showrooms, 15 overseas exhibitions, and 11 country-specific overseas stations. These initiatives cover 12 countries and regions, including the UAE, USA, Brazil, Spain, Russia, Japan, Nigeria, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
